GENERAL SUMMARY

Provide technical customs expertise to internal/external customers pertaining to Canadian and international customs regulations and legislation. Act as a qualified representative for Federal Express Management in customs consulting to Federal Express customers as well as U.S., offshore and Canadian sales. Provide customer satisfaction through efficient problem resolution. Plan and implement Customs projects as assigned and work as a management assist person. Interact with local government agencies in order to protest/follow through to resolve any Administrative Monetary Penalty System (AMPS) penalties

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • Bachelor¿s degree / educational equivalent plus the CSCB qualification course or CCS (Certified Customs Specialist) program.
  • Three and one half years of current customs experience required, including commodity classification, valuation laws and other Governmental agency requirements.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, organizational and communication skills required with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated proficiency of windows based spreadsheet and word processing software.
  • Project management experience an asset.
  • Some overnight travel required.
