Responsibilities:
1. Produce a consistent visual image on the web site including maintenance of templates and image archives.
2. Review and analyze assignments / technical specifications to resolve any deficiencies or problems in producing the specified output; takes initiative to provide feedback and innovative ideas; proactively communicate issues and challenges that may affect timely sequence of deliverables.
3. Ensure that images are delivered to the viewer at sufficiently high speed and quality; make certain consistency of image, ease of access and site navigation, and adherence to editorial standards.
4. Create image links, and ensure that links are up to date; update information on pages and databases based on written technical specifications so that content stay current. Trains users in case CMS is implemented.
5. Develop, research, write/edit and create layout for new sections/features; implement graphic design production, preparing content in optimized formats to programmers for efficient integration.
6. Hone skills in computer graphics and layout using computerized page layout and design software/s. Grow knowledge and understanding of internet operations and functionality including but not limited to browser compatibility-issues, and of a wide range internet
programming (e.g. markup and scripting languages), editing and authoring tools, and related website technologies.
7. Develop in stages, including storyboards sketches to allow for input early in the process, before full implementation begins. Efficiently produce proofs of concept.
8. Learn new internet and authoring technologies relevant for website development.
9. Give advice to the IMD Management on emerging trends in information technology, particularly in the Internet and how it can provide improvements in the Medical Center’s business processes.
10. Perform regular back-up of all web application programs under development.
11. Perform other tasks that may be assigned by the Applications Development Manager and I.T. Associate Director.
B. Relational
1. Assist the Application Development Manager on the development and enforcement of software standards.
2. Coordinate with users and project sponsors regarding the requirements at each stage of the web application projects. Provide regular feedback on progress of the project to them.
3. Provide work assignments to programmers. Serves as internal resource person to programmers on the manner of implementing systems.
4. Coordinate with the Network Manager on the production and development requirements of the system being implemented.
5. Coordinate with Database Administrator in the creation of database tables.
6. Ensure that recent versions of programs are updated in the source program library.
Requirements:
Education
1.1 Graduate of a four year college degree course preferably in Computer Science or
Engineering, completed training course in UNIX shell Programming, 4-GL and Object oriented programming language.
2. Experience
2.1 At least 3 years industry experience, two years of which as a Web Developer.
2.2 Experience with managing website content.
2.3 Extensive experience with two or more desktop publishing / imaging applications:
(a) photo editing like Adobe Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro; (b) drawing like Macromedia Freehand, Adobe Illustrator, Corel Draw; (c) page layout like Adobe PageMaker, Adobe InDesign; (d) presentation like Powerpoint, Astound; (e) Multimedia like Macromedia Director, Flash, streaming audio and video; and others like Adobe Distiller/Exchange, GifBuilder, GifConverter, 3D Studio, etc.
3. Knowledge:
3.1 Expert in Internet Standards including web browsers and browser specifications.
3.2 In-depth knowledge of one or more web markup or scripting laguages: Javascript,
CSS, HTML, XHTML.
4. Personality
4.1 Good moral character and pleasing personality.
4.2 Good oral and written communication skills.
4.3 Great sense of responsibility and strong perseverance.
4.4 Reacts constructively to difficult tasks and multiple deadlines. Suggests alternative
means of accomplishing tasks to overcome obstacles to completing work. Remains calm under pressure; maintains focus on solving problems and not blaming others.
